People tend to be more engaged and motivated when they feel they are working towards a purpose. Because the average person spends about 35% of their time awake at work, it is imperative that they are able to find meaning in what they are doing. When purpose is clear in an organization, it is easier for employees to more directly see how their work specifically is meaningful. Especially if they are shown how their work has an impact and how it ties into the companies greater goal. Ultimately giving employees a greater sense of job satisfaction.
