Dr. Ecsile Chang is a dentist with deep roots so to speak. From an early age, she was fascinated with oral hygiene and dental care. She has parlayed that interest into having become a newly-minted graduate of the University of Nevada’s dental school. As the daughter of hardworking Korean immigrants, she has come full circle in realizing the American dream with a plan to return and practice in her Alaskan hometown. Reflect on these key points:
- 1Dr. Ecsile Chang always wanted to be a dentist and at a young age showed great interest in everything related to the profession.
- 2Alaska does not have a dental school. Chang attended dental school in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- 3Chang will return to Fairbanks this summer to work as an associate with her childhood dentist.
“She’d also build toy retainers with chewing gum and put them in the freezer.”
