This post is dedicated to all those times I freaked out and bought a new outfit for an interview even if I probably didn’t need to (which was almost every single time).
Ok, so–phew–you have the interview. But what are you going to wear? This may sound like a simple question, but there are so many things to think about when preparing your clothes and accessories the night before the big day. Believe it or not, for me, this is the most difficult part of the interview process. Today, I stumbled upon this CareerThinker.com article on what to wear and what not to wear, and though some of these things may sound like no-brainers (like the one that says a bra is mandatory), there are some really good pointers I never took into consideration, such as wearing a closed-toe conservative pump and not overdoing it on the bling side.
Take a look at the article. It gives tips for both men and women on attire and accessories, and it even reminds you to hold your portfolio or briefcase in your left hand so your right one is free to shake when you meet your interviewer. Perhaps you’ll find something you agree with but have never thought of before. Next time I get ready for an interview, I will be leaving my bangle bracelets at home (as I tend to over do it a lot with those) and I’ll be skipping the perfume.
