I’ve been hearing from a lot of practices that hiring the right employees has been a challenge for the last seven or so years.
Times have changed, and with them, so have the desires of the job seeker. If you don’t make changes and adjustments of what your practice can offer, you cease to attract the right people. You must change your mindset if you want to hire top dental professionals.
It’s best to begin with an audit of your hiring practices and a review of both your office mission and vision statements, and your office policy and procedure manual. Are you authentic? Do you offer a unique working environment? Before even posting a job opening, you have to lay the foundation for a place people want to work. If your website, social media, office marketing materials, and mission and vision statement are crafted to make your practice look impossibly perfect and cater to what people want to see and hear, you may attract top talent. But once they work in your office and experience the culture, learning first-hand that you don’t walk the talk, they will be looking for another job. You’re back recruiting again. You must be authentic with your branding and real with job seekers.
Have you thought about what your employees want? Having an awareness of today’s employee is critical. It will allow you to create the right message, and in turn, attract top talent to your office. Employees today expect more from their work and their employer, and they feel they deserve the best work experience possible. Think about it, wouldn’t you want to get up and go to work every day and have the best experience possible? Don’t dream it, make it happen.
Employees today want to be inspired. Give them that compelling urge to work. They will be more productive and efficient and their passion will carry over to exceptional customer service. Fulfilled employees and satisfied customers will be reflected in your bottom line as you’ll see your business grow!
