At work, you want to build confidence from co-workers and a strong professional network. Getting personal can help but you have to be careful not to over share information about yourself that you may regret later. Studies have shown that those with high emotional intelligence do the best at work and people recognized with this intelligence have several traits in common. They don’t discuss political beliefs, or dating habits to their coworkers. Further, they don’t discuss coworkers competency, if they hate their job or are job hunting. You can still be personable without revealing too much.
